Congregational Vote
For those unable to attend yesterday, I can confirm that we as a congregation voted to put forward Rev. Paul Clarke's name to the Free Church Home Missions Board and to Edinburgh Presbytery as preferred candidate for the role of pastor of St Andrews Free Church.
Votes cast (including those by email) were as follows:
Members - 18 for; 9 against.
Adherents - 26 for; 7 against.
Total = 44:16
Since the Interim Moderator, Rev. David Robertson, indicated that he wished to see a clear majority in favour before proceeding, the small number of returned ballot papers not indicating either 'yes' or 'no', were by default counted as votes against.

Congregational Meeting and Voting by Email
On Sunday 27th January there will be a congregational meeting to discuss and vote on the issue of a future minister for St Andrews Free Church of Scotland. It would be preferable for every member of the congregation, whether member or adherent, to be there and to vote. We understand, however, that this will not be possible for everyone. For this reason, there will be an opportunity for those who cannot attend the meeting to vote by email.
For more information on the appointment process, the meeting on the 27th and for instructions regarding voting by email please click here.
